Tricholoma equestre
Cap is typically yellow with a brownish center; average cap size is 2-5
inches but can be larger; big mushroom. Gills bright yellow. Stem white,
often with yellow tones. These collections were found growing with Scots
and white pine trees.
Bright yellow gills are attached to the stem very slightly by a notch.
The tiny white threads (mycelia) at the base are responsible for
producing this mushroom.
Snoop around a little, there is sometimes more below the surface.
